Day 266 | Happiness in a box

Today I got what to me is a bit of happiness in a box. After having had my iPhone 3GS for over three years and patiently resisting giving in last year when iPhone 5 yet again didn’t not launch, and this spring learning that a June launch was not likely, I finally got it.

Today I got myself a shiny new white iPhone 5. Using my phone has been a real painful experience lately and by lately I mean the last year. My 3GS has been starting to play up and being sleepy when I’ve requested it to do even the simplest task. It’s caused me frustrations and left me staring at blank screens endless number of times before any content has loaded. Doing app research, of which I’ve done a lot, has been effortsome. Though closet tidying and the one-in-one-out principle is a fairly good one to (sometimes) have preventing you from hoarding too much stuff, applying the same thing to downloading apps is not ideal. And the camera. It has pained me seeing my grainy pictures knowing that the moments I capture are of less quality than what they rightfully should be.

In other words I’ve really been looking forward to this day and number 5 doesn’t disappoint. It’s a delight to hold it and to use it and not having to wait for it to respond. And since I by accident bought a size too large (early morning confusing my iPhone storage with my iPad’s) I have all the space I want (almost) to download and collect apps. But most of all, every time I pull out and use my new shiny phone it brings a little smile to my face and that in turn means I’m smiling more throughout the day.
