Day 048 | Preparing for sis’ visit

In the last 2 weeks I’ve written a few posts about setting expectations, not forgetting, when it all comes down to it, what’s really important in life and, yesterday about being honest rather than saying ‘Maybe’ just to try to be nice.

I’ve also mentioned how juggling work and life has been the biggest challenge so far in all of this. I’m 48 days in and loving every bit of it, apart from time being such a scarce resource.

My sister has just arrived in London and is staying for the weekend. Hand on heart it’s not the best weekend considering we have 2 1/2 weeks to go. I could easily have stressed out about it but I haven’t. Something has happened in the last few weeks. I think it’s getting used to juggling this and starting to find a balance where the uncertainty and slight chaos has turned into quite a nice adventure. There’s no point trying to control it all and I’ve settled into taking it as it comes, whilst as much possible try to plan ahead. You can only every do so much and Yellow and I are in a good place in terms of being on top of what needs doing. And that’s enough.

With regards to my sister, I can’t wait to spend some time with her. I see her and my family way too little due to living abroad and sometimes a forced break, like a visit, is just the kind of break you need. There will be no work whilst she’s here, apart from scanning a few sketches to Yellow and writing tomorrow’s post, and not working is going to do me some good. So that’s how I’m taking it. No point in doing it any other way.
With just over 1 ½ weeks left at the BBC it’ll be hectic meaning even less time to work outside of work. With it being lighter outside I can start cycling to work again and that way I won’t only cut off some of my commute time but I’ll get a bit more exercise in as well. And most exciting of all – in 2 ½ weeks we’ll start talking to people about us and what we do and I cannot wait to get some initial feedback and meet new people. Good times.
