This week I’ve worked five days at the day job and it’s been a great variety of projects as well as byflock work. The commute is taking a little getting used to but other than that it’s great to be back in central London.

Day 258 | Getting used to a longer commute

Since April 2011 I’ve had a maximum of 20 minutes on the tube to work, all of it overground. Door to door I’ve never been more than 30 minutes away. Now I’m getting used to longer journeys as well as being squeezed in like a sardine down in the tunnels.

Need more sleep

Day 257 | Improving, but still learning

The biggest challenge with all of this is by far getting the hours to work, in both senses. Having time to do the work and having time to do everything else that I want to do and need, like sleep and exercise.

Why you should write every day

You probably think you have nothing to write about but once you start it gets hard to stop. Honestly. Writing is an incredibly important skill at all levels. By writing every day you reflect on things in a different and clearer way and you become better at expressing yourself. If you haven’t tried writing every day, give it a try for 30 days to begin with. I did it every day of 2012. Seth Godin has done it for years and swears by it.
