My walk & talk “podcast” experiment

I’ve done a little experiment that I’d love your feedback on. It’s a series of unedited, no thrills audio recordings and what I’d love your input on is if I should turn them and the idea behind them into a no thrills podcast.

I recorded the first one on my afternoon walk with our daughter the other day. You can hear the birds in the background, a plane or two flying past and other noises. I only recorded it once and I haven’t edited it and the idea is to continue doing a series of these and keep them in their original raw format.

Back in 2012 I wrote a blog post every day for the full year. As I talk about in my “pilot” it was a great experience that made me reflect on everyday experiences and draw parallels to UX, work and startup life which I then wrote about. In the beginning, coming up with ideas of what to write about was harder but as I got into it the posts came naturally and that’s kind of how this little experiment has begun too.

Since my “pilot” I’ve recorded a few more. Just as my day by day blog post series the recordings I’ve done so far vary in length and in the topics that I cover. Some are pure UX. Others more reflections and ponderings drawing on what I’m thinking, experiencing or coming across during that specific day. This is what I’ve recorded so far:

I’d love for you to have a listen and let me know what you think. Should I keep doing them? Or is it just too much noise in an already crowded podcast space? Or is there something you’d love me to cover? Let me know by commenting, emailing me or reaching out on Twitter or Instagram.

Have you read these?
