Day 22 | A new chapter of making connections

Since we found out we were selected to pitch, I’ve found myself getting more and more excited about what this next chapter brings. Today I’ve spent most of my day connecting with people, those I met at the pitch event and also others over the years.

From not having talked very much about Glimt.it I’m now in situation where I have to – in proper startup cliche lingo – hustle and I like it as I actually feel like we have something to say, share and offer.

To some extent I’m very much an open book personally, but I’m also a very private person. I prefer to listen to what others have to say than to talk about myself, or what I’m up to. I’m at times naive and perhaps share too much of my personal experiences, but I’m also reserved. I like to know who I’m talking to before I give away too much e.g. about what we’re working on beyond what you can see on Glimt.it right now.

I’m not yet a master at selling myself or Glimt.it and to some I probably come across as a “Nah, she doesn’t really have anything to offer” until you’ve actually talked to me for 10 mins or so. In a room full of other startup founders I don’t necessarily stand out as the one to meet afterwards, even if I actually am.

I know I need to work on this and start being clearer and to some extent a bit more forward about Glimt.it, our team and where we’re going. At the moment I’m reaching out to people for feedback on our pitch deck and introductions to any investors whom we might be of interest to, or who might know someone. It’s a new chapter that I’m really excited about and most of all it’s because after a year of testing, learning and validation, I at last know that we have something to “shout” about.
